Fall 2009: Associate Pastor search committee begins work.

Following a congregational meeting and election in June and approval from the Committee on Ministry and Susquehanna Presbytery, the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee (APNC) has officially begun their task of preparing to search.

The committee is: Julia Griffin, Steve Griffin, Brad McFall, Tina Mollenkamp, Cindy Noble, Margaret Shackell-Dowell, Deborah Streeter, Wenmouth Williams. Wenmouth was selected to chair and Tina is the communications specialist.

It has been about 10 years since an associate search has been accomplished here. The format remains basically the same as the search for a senior pastor. Most of the work remains confidential and updates will be provided to Session and the newsletter as information develops. The initial steps are to prepare documents that will eventually be approved by the presbytery COM and hopefully by January, 2010, our church information form (CIF) which details the position, etc., will be placed on the vocation page of the PCUSA website and begin to attract potential candidates who present their profiles called pastor's information form (PIF). That means significant work and reading and interviewing early next spring. Our goal is to complete the process and have an associate with us by July 1. Please remember this committee in prayer.
