At First Presbyterian Church, we believe an important part of the Christian life is in supporting various mission projects, both at home and abroad. Some local projects we support include:
- Campus Ministries - First Presbyterian supports both the Protestant Cooperative Ministry at Cornell University and the Ithaca College Protestant Community.
- English as a Second Language - ESL classes from the Tompkins-Seneca-Tioga Board Of Cooperative Education Services (TST BOCES) hold their classes in our Sunday School classrooms during the week.
- Ithaca Kitchen Cupboard - this food cupboard, housed in the Ithaca Corps of the Salvation Army, is supported in part by donations of food, money, and volunteer time from First Presbyterian Church.
- Friendship Center - now under the able leadership of the Tompkins County Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Friendship Center is a drop-in service center for the homeless and underserved of our community, and was started by members of First Presbyterian.
- Youth Group Projects - the church is proud to support the youth groups in their various mission efforts.
- JPIC - one of the church's most active committees. JPIC ("jay-pick") is short for "Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation."
- Ithaca Health Alliance
- Refugee Resettlement
- Child Development Council
- Habitat for Humanity
