Mary Magdalene and her cruse of oil
The lower panel contains the verse: I am the Resurrection and the Life saith the Lord. (John 11:25) The shields on this panel contain the words, Fides, Caritas and Spes, the Latin words for Faith, Charity and Hope.
The children of Howard Cornelius Williams and his wife Frances Grant gave this window. Mr. Williams was proprietor of the Cascadilla Flour Mills at the Corner of Linn Street and University avenue. Mrs. Williams died in 1886, and Mr. Williams in 1891, in Bay City, Michigan. It is probable that he was there on some business to do with the flour industry. Milling and flour were of great importance in early Ithaca.
