John the Baptist Mary Magdalene St. John Christ St. Peter Mary St. Paul

Mary, the mother of Jesus

The bottom panel reads: Blessed are the pure in heart (Matthew 5:8a)

Robert E. Treman, Charles E. Treman, and Mrs. Mynders Van Cleef gave this window in memory of their mother, Mrs. Elias Truman.  Mrs. Treman's husband was co-founder of Treman, King and Company, Ithaca's once-famous sporting goods store.  The largest and last building of the company still stands on the corner of the Commons and Cayuga Street.

Mrs. Treman lived from 1832 to 1901.  The family home was at 24 West Buffalo Street.  Mrs. Treman was very active in church work.  She gave the first organ when this building was opened.

One need hardly give details about the great contribution the Elias Treman descendants have made to the Ithaca community in business and banking, and in the preservation of the natural beauty that surrounds us.  We owe accessible, unspoiled glens and parks to the foresight of this family and their devotion to our region.

The memorial plaque reads:
