Saint Paul

    This window contains the following verses:

        On the paper Paul is holding:  Now is Christ risen from the dead.  (1 Corinthians 15:20a)

        The book in the bottom panel:  The sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.  (Ephesians 6:17b)

        The bottom of the window:  Quit you like men be strong.  (1 Corinthians 16:13b)

    This window was given in dedication to the memory of Elmer Alonzo Denton by his widow.  The dates given on the window are 1869-1907, but another record says he died in 1903.  He was a lawyer, with an office at 22 West State Street, and he lived at 14 West Seneca.  Like many of the active citizens of the day, he was a Mason and a member of the local militia.  He was a member of this church for 13 years, serving as trustee and Sunday School teacher.  He sang tenor in the choir.
