Due to interest in seeing the “Black Christmas” film from those who missed the January presentation, the firm will be shown again on May 28. Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela, who visited our church last fall, produced and narrated called “Black Christmas: Where Forgiveness is Not in the Saying, It’s In the Doing,” a documentary directed by Mark Kaplan. The film focuses on a bomb attack on Christmas Eve, 1996. The film synopsis reads: “A unique South African story that probes the deep dimensions of forgiveness. Olga Macingwane, one of the survivors of a bomb attack, sees the humanity in the youngest of the perpetratrors, Stefaans Coetzee, and this sets them both on an unexpected path that culminates in his release from prison.”
