Music plays an important role in our worship and fellowship.  Music builds bonds of faith in both young and old.  Here at First Presbyterian, we offer a variety of activities for individuals of all ages to worship in music.  From our Chancel Choir and individual musical offerings with our organist Ian Woods, we welcome everyone to participate.

The Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir rehearses on Thursdays from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. throughout the academic year.  All are welcome to join this mixed adult choir that provides weekly leadership in worship services. Twice each year, the choir prepares an extended choral offering, usually with organ and orchestra collaboration.

The worship service and choral participation are incredibly enriched through our work with our organist, Ian Woods. The music program will continue to flourish in our downtown church with the support of people willing to sing and to play bells in our ensembles.

Special and Individual Music Offerings

Throughout the year, individuals and groups have an opportunity to provide musical offerings. These have included the Brass Ensemble of Ithaca College, vocal soles by individuals from the congregation, Cornell and Ithaca College. Offerings include voice and instrumental selections and from the young and not so young!
